The Garrett PowerMax Bolt-On Turbo Charger MGT2259S is a direct-fit performance upgrade for Subaru’s FA20 2.0L DIT engines found in the WRX VA, Levorg VM and Forester XT SJ. Engineered as an outline-interchangeable replacement for the factory turbocharger, it reuses the OEM mounting points and connections for a straightforward bolt-on installation.
At the heart of this unit is a forged, fully machined compressor wheel that delivers up to 18% more compressor flow than the original turbo. This increased airflow supports up to 480 hp (353 kW) of turbocharger capability when combined with appropriate ECU tuning and supporting modifications, giving you greater power potential and sharper response while retaining OEM-like fitment and drivability.
Built on Garrett’s 70+ years of turbocharging experience, the PowerMax range is designed to meet or exceed OEM durability and reliability standards. The MGT2259S features a fully machined speed sensor port to allow precise turbo speed monitoring and safer tuning, with compatible Garrett speed sensor and Bluetooth modules available separately.
To fully realise the performance gains from this turbocharger, a professional ECU retune is strongly recommended. As with any performance upgrade, operating the turbocharger beyond the specified maximum speed of 185,000 RPM is at the owner’s risk and may cause damage or premature failure.
